The Barista Skills Foundation course focuses on the key skills required to set a grinder, make espresso and foam, and texture milk for cappuccinos.

Course includes:

  • Have a broad understanding of 
    • Coffee plant
    • Coffee flavour
    • What is specialty coffee
  • Demonstrate practical skills on adjusting the grinder
  • Demonstrate practical skills on making espresso and cappuccino
  • Demonstrate practical skills on frothing milk and pouring in a cappuccino
  • Demonstrate hygiene in the work place.

Course Length:
1.5 days+ 0.5 day exams

Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Program - Barista Foundation

This course has an expanded syllabus as compared with SCA Barista Foundation certification, with added content on green coffee, processing methods, coffee history, ASEAN coffee industry and sustainability issues. The brewing method is espresso.

        Course Length:
        2.5 days+ 0.5 day exams

         

        Participants earn a certificate from ACI from the 3-day training. Participants can also choose to get both SCA and ACI certificates at a slightly higher price upon completion of the ACI course.
