CHOCOLATE | CARAMEL | FLORAL | ORANGE
Toraja Pulu-Pulu coffee grows beneath the shade of native trees, on land that has been carefully tended by generations of smallholder farmers.
What makes Pulu-Pulu’s coffee exceptional? It’s the high elevation, the mineral-rich soil, and the unique post-harvest traditions
Expect a cup that is deep, full-bodied, with deep spice notes, ripe citrus fruit, and a warm, earthy finish—the kind of coffee that has long sweet lingering aftertaste.
This coffee is sourced by Coffee Beyond Borders of Indonesia. The producer George Guling began to process coffees in 2018. In 2022, he led the team with his two other partners to start the washing station Inovasi Kopi to help and assist Sulawesi coffee farmers. Their assistance include farming knowledge, fertilizer supports, investing in green houses.
Coffee Beyond Borders met George in 2021 in a cafe expo and they immediately felt his sincerity to really help Sulawesi coffee farmers. Having cupped his coffees for the first time and understanding that Sulawesi is a very difficult origin to source, they fell in love to this potential journey immediately and would like to explore deeper about this origin.
George and his team are processing coffees from multiple regions in Sulawesi, i.e. Pulu-pulu, Minanga, Awan, and Gasing. For now, only washed coffee is available.
This coffee is used as the mystery coffee for roasting in the preliminary round of the Inaugural Home Roasting Championship 2025 held in conjunction with Singapore Coffee Week.
