1. Course Content: This course has an expanded syllabus as compared with Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Barista Foundation certification, with added content on green coffee, coffee history, ASEAN coffee industry and sustainability issues. The brewing method is espresso. There is a theory test of relative difficulty at the end of the course, and a role play between participants in the practical test.
2. Prospective Candidates: This is an entry level course with deeper content as compared to other similar courses in the market. It is for working barista who wants to deepen their fundamental knowledge and skills in coffee, as well as the home barista who are exploring new career or business options in F&B.
3. Corporate Collaboration: Since March 2024, we have worked with Dutch multinational dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina to enhance our milk module in our course. Participants will benefit from this collaboration.
4. Mode of Training: We adopt a blended mode of education - 5 hour online theory lesson and 2 days of on-site practical lesson:

- 4th Jun (Tue) and 5th Jun (Wed) 7.30 to 10 pmPractical - 11th May (Sat) and 12th May (Sun) 9.30 am to 5 pm

5. Self-paced Adult Learning: To cater to busy working adult, the theory and practical portions can be taken separately. The theory and practical tests are during the 2nd practical day.
6. Increasing Value and Popularity: ACI have received overwhelmingly positive interest and feedback on our comprehensive and science-based syllabus. Successful candidates who pass both the theory and practical tests earn a certificate from ACI.
