Coffee in Mexico was introduced from the Antilles at the end of the 18 centuries. Currently Mexico is recovering from a devastating roya (algae) attack that took place some years ago. Now the renewed trees are giving their first cherries. Our Mexican coffee comes from the high mountains of La Frailesca buffer zone in the southwest part of Chiapas.
Chiapas is a multicultural state bordering Guatemala, inhabited predominantly by Mayan descendants and well known for their coffee production due to the richness of the soil and altitude of their mountains.
