In China, White tea is generally divided into 3 grades, Silver Needles comprising of pure tea buds, Bai Mudan, with picking of one buds with one or two leaves and Shou Mei, mostly just tea leaves.
Within Bai Mudan, the first picks are often referred to as Mudan King or Mudan Wang. With obvious tea buds in the picking, the is withered under natural sun and wind for 72 hours.
White tea is one of the simplest method of tea processing which many believed were the original methods of how teas were processed, drying naturally as many farmers do with herbs. This allows the tea to be stored for long period and slowly undergo fermentation for more flavour development.

Produced in Zheng He, Fujian this is the first city named after a tea which has been called the Home of the White Tea. Zheng He enjoys excellent climate to grow tea and the varietal found here, Zheng He Da Bai is indigenous from the area. Research has discovered that it actually belongs to the Camelia Senesis, Assamica family.
This particular microlot called Abundance Harvest, is produced in the heart of Zheng He tea production, Tie Shan (Iron Mountain) where original varietals of the Zheng He Da Bai varietals were found.

This tea is supervised by Tea Master Yang Feng, who Chinese government appointed custodian for the Intangible Culture Heritage of making Zheng He Red and White Tea.
